Felling large dangerous trees

We specialise in the removal of dead or potentially dangerous trees, if the site allows we can fell large trees whole, and remove them from the site. We work with different techniques and equipment to make this possible, including, mobile elevated platforms, cranes and rigging equipment to ensure safe and speedy removal.

We carry out sectional dismantling of trees where access is difficult or when working in confined spaces using our specialist equipment and high climbing and lowering techniques.

We will often use mobile crane equipment for quick, safe and cost effective removal of awkward trees.

Deadwood Pruning

This is essential for a healthy tree, as well as ensuring public safety. Dead or diseased branch wood can fall off the tree at anytime, at great danger to public health. Deadwood can cause rot and disease to a healthy tree – removal will enable the tree to seal and prevent the spread of infection to the rest of the tree. We appreciate that deadwood is a vital habitat for wildlife – taking this into consideration we will tailor all work done accordingly to meet these needs.

Re-pollarding

This consists of removing all branches and limbs down to the original main limbs pollard points.

Formative Pruning

Formative or corrective pruning will be carried out to young trees up to 5m in height with the objective to develop a tree into a well-shaped and balanced specimen and must be carried in accordance with the nature of the tree.

Site Clearance

We can work quickly and efficiently to clear sites ready for construction, road building etc.

Crown Lifting

This involves removing the lower branches. This work method is necessary to allow light penetration and it provides shape and balance to the tree.

Crown Reductions

This reduces the overall height and size of the tree. Crown reduction enables trees to be properly sustained and retained if construction or new buildings become present in their environment. Proper pruning enables a tree to live in its new surroundings rather than be lost to construction and new development.

Crown Thinning

The reduction in density of foliage will reduce density through the whole crown by a percentage between 10% and 50% through the removal of weak, thin, crossing and dangerous branches and pruning of such sound branches as needed to achieve the following; safety, to preserve balance or impose shape, to admit more light and air to and through the crown, or reduce weight, to lessen wind resistance, to produce more flower or fruit, to train and encourage good branch development in young trees.

Stump Grinding

We offer a stump grinding service using self propelled grinders that can grind the stump to a depth of 300mm below ground level. The machinery can fit into most gardens being no wider than the average pathway. The ground can then be back filled with soil and topped with turf or hard landscaping.

We can remove on a single stump in a confined back garden or clear a whole site ready for construction.
